In recognition of Bike to Work Day, which is this Friday, Blasingame, Burch, Garrard & Ashley, P.C. (BBGA) has teamed up with BikeAthens to provide free bike lights.
When riding at night, Georgia law requires bicycles to be visible up to 300 feet from the front and rear of a bike. A white light must be attached to the front and a red light, or a red reflector, must be affixed to the back of a bike.
In an effort to make Athens’ roads safer and prevent wrecks before they happen, on Friday, May 18, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., BBGA and BikeAthens will hand out free bike lights at BikeAthens, 1075 West Broad Street. The occasion is part of a Bike to Work Day Celebration & Bike Light Giveaway. If you ride (or bring) your bike to the event, the bike lights can be installed for free, while supplies last.
Light refreshments will also be served.
