ShareholderAttorney vCard
Chris is an experienced civil litigation attorney and a shareholder at Blasingame, Burch, Garrard & Ashley, PC. His practice focuses on business, construction, and real estate litigation matters, as well as serious personal injury cases.
As part of his business practice, Chris has significant experience representing all types of businesses in litigation and arbitration both locally and nationally, ranging from small local companies to large national corporations. When representing businesses and business owners, Chris strives to not only resolve current disputes as effectively and efficiently as possible, but to also evaluate the source of the dispute and make proactive recommendations to his clients on how to prevent similar issues in the future.
Chris’s construction practice focuses on representing commercial owners, developers, general contractors, and subcontractors in litigation and arbitration, including construction defect actions, payment disputes, lien actions, and breach of contract actions. He also has extensive experience representing residential builders and homeowners in matters involving breaches of warranty, construction defect, and fraudulent business practices. Chris believes that many construction disputes could be avoided with carefully crafted contractual language, and he always looks to resolve current disputes with an eye towards addressing ambiguous or problematic contractual language in his clients’ form contracts to avoid future issues.
Over his career, Chris has worked at boutique firms as well as a large insurance defense firm, allowing him to gain valuable experience handling complex and high exposure cases for both plaintiffs and defendants, and giving him insight into the processes and mindset of adverse parties in cases where insurance coverage is involved.
After earning a Bachelor of Secondary Education degree from the University of Georgia, Chris earned his J.D. from Georgia State University School of Law, where he served as the philanthropic chair for the Oglethorpe Legal Society. In his spare time, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and son camping, fishing, playing golf, attending concerts, and rooting for the Dawgs.
