Athens real estate attorney Molly Talley joined Blasingame, Burch, Garrard & Ashley, P.C. in 1998 and has been assisting clients with a number of complex legal issues ever since. Molly focuses her practice on residential and commercial real estate, secured transactions, and business law. She is capable of handling everything from real estate-related matters such as acquisitions, development, construction, financing, ownership, management, leasing, and disposition to small business legal matters, lender representation, and commercial closings. She is a U.S. Small Business Administration Designated Attorney, and provides representation for lenders, including banks and Certified Development Corporations (CDCs), in closing SBA 7a loans, SBA 504 loans, CDC direct loans, and USDA loans. Molly enjoys working with her clients. She is detail-oriented and extremely responsive.
Molly was born in Austin, Texas and, along with her family, moved several times before settling in Athens, Georgia in 1989. She attended the University of Georgia where she obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration in 1994 and her Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1998. While in law school, she was on the Editorial Board for theGeorgia Journal of International and Comparative Law.
Molly is a past and present member of many professional organizations, including the State Bar of Georgia Real Property Law Section, the Western Circuit Bar Association, Athens Area Chamber of Commerce, Athens Area Association of Realtors, Athens Area Homebuilders Association, Athens Mortgage Bankers Association, the National Association of Development Companies, and the Women’s Council of Realtors. Molly is also the only U.S. Small Business Association (SBA) Designated Attorney in the Athens area, and one of only a handful (about 10 or 15) in the entire state of Georgia. She has received the highest peer rating possible, an AV® Rating by Martindale-Hubbell®, based on her commitment to high legal and ethical standards.
Molly is also an active member of her community. She has been involved with a large number of charitable and civic organizations. She was an ABA Regional Negotiation Competition Judge, and was involved in Adopt-a-Class, the Alpha Alpha Chapter of Phi Mu (and Area Alumnae), the American Cancer Society – Clarke-Oconee Executive Leadership Council, the Athens Area Cancer Auxiliary, and Athens Land Trust. She has also been involved with the Athens YMCA, Books 4 Keeps, Cancer Foundation of Northeast Georgia – TRI to Beat Cancer, Community Connection of Northeast Georgia, East Athens Development Corporation, Girl Scouts of Northeast Georgia, Habitat for Humanity, Jeanette Rankin Foundation, Junior League of Athens, Leadership Athens, Law-Related Education, March of Dimes, Mock Trial Coach and Judge, Palladia, Prevent Child Abuse Athens, and the State Botanical Garden Junior Committee. She is also a member of Athens First United Methodist Church and the Athens Country Club and remains active in her children’s school and extracurricular activities. Molly has also provided pro bono representation through the firm.
In her free time, Molly is devoted to her family and enjoys traveling as much as she can.
